Summer 2008

Jason spent time training with the Navy this summer. He was in Rhode Island for six weeks at Office Training School. Then he spent four weeks in Annapolis at the Naval Academy as a Chaplain in training.

A Week In Mazatlan

We spent a week of March in Mexico with Jason's folks and his brother's family. The boys swam everyday and loved the huge pool. They enjoyed time at the beach and discovered the market in Mazatlan. The pig heads grossed them out! Riley and Zach took a tennis lesson and Zach learned how to dive into the water. It was a great time with family and a wonderful break from the snowy winter in Chicago.

At the skatepark

Went to the Lakeshore Skatepark today. Riley wore his blades while Zach used his skateboard. At only 38 degrees, we had the park all to ourselves for most of the time. Zach was nearly fearless as he tackled the whole park. Riley used a lot a caution... and his knees to get up the ramps.

Also on Christmas break

We got to the Field Museum for a day over break. Riley especially loves going there and soaks it all in. The high temperature that day was 16 degrees. Yikes!

Christmas

We headed over to Vermont to see some of Jill's family for Christmas. Had a great time and the boys enjoyed the snow. But the weather didn't slow us down as we drove nearly 900 miles in one day to make it home just before an ice storm hit Chicago.
